BIG Energy Week - Jan 16-21 2012

Big hikes in energy prices are a real worry for our clients and they're looking for ways to cut costs. In the last six months, double the number of people came to the Citizens Advice website looking for advice on saving money on energy bills compared with last year.

On the 17 October 2011 Gillian Guy, along with energy suppliers and representatives from other consumer groups joined the Department of Energy and Climate Change to discuss what can be done to help consumers cope with rising fuel bills.

One of the outcomes of the week was that the Citizens Advice service would a coordinate a 'Big Energy Week' in January during which consumer organisations, energy suppliers, switching sites and Government agencies will be working together to let consumers who are struggling with rising energy bills know about all the help that is available and the steps they can take to save money on their energy bill and maximise their income.
